The Victory Junction Gang Camp

The Camp Mission
The mission of the Victory Junction Gang Camp is to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering in a safe and medically sound environment.

The Camp
The camp was found by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie to honor their late son Adam. The Camp is a member of Paul Newman's Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. Located on 72 acres in Randleman, North Carolina, the Victory Junction Gang Camp hosts campers ranging from 7 to 15 years old with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. The camp's summer program consists of week-long sessions each attended by 125 children, all with a similar medical condition. The remainder of the year includes family retreat weekends, specialized programs for smaller group s of children, sibling weekends and camper reunions. The camp opened in 2004.

The Campers

The camp is a haven and a retreat for young people with:
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Burn Survivors
  • Cancer

Camper Activities
Victory Junction seeks to encourage, comfort and empower children through laughter and camp activities. Campers become fishermen, naturalists, athletes, actors, equestrians, potters, painters, photographers, swimmers, singers, boatmen, musicians, woodworkers, and much more. The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a place where kids can connect with other kids who have illnesses. It gives them a place to just be kids, and enjoy the full range of fun and pleasures that "healthy" kids might experience at a camp.

Medical Capabilities
Pediatric specialty doctors, nurses, and a fully-equipped medical center are available 24 hours a day to handle any medical need, from bandaging a minor cut to providing chemotherapy.

Camp Funding
The children who attend Victory Junction would not otherwise be able to attend camp because of their medical needs. No child or family pays to attend the camp. Victory Junction operates solely on generous contributions and donations from corporations, individuals, and foundations. Your contribution to Victory Junction ensures this work will continue and more special children can experience the camp.

About the Computer Lab - The direct benefit of this event...
The computer lab at the camp is home to 20 computers, as well as printing and scanning equipment and is a place for campers to learn about the wonders of technology. Jayski.com has already raised more then three-quarters of the $75,000 goal and we want to do our part to help Jayski get to the finish line! Help us make dreams come true and have fun doing it. We call it "Racing for a Reason". To learn more about the Victory Junction Gang Camp click here.
